Commissioned by the Mitteldeutschrundfunk Choir, Leipzig, and first performed by them under Howard Arman in the Peterskirche, Leipzig on 18th June, 2010, as part of a Robert Schumann centenary series. A setting of the opening lines of Ungewisses Licht by Joseph von Zedlitz (set by Schumann in 1862) which describe a wanderer blundering across a wild and rocky landscape, much as the human race blunders through history.
